Turtle Island String Quartet by Cherith

This was such an innovative performances. I have never seen anything like it, I had absolutely no idea that violins and cellos (among others) could make sounds like that. I loved the music, it was amazing. I loved the informality of it all, the small theatre and the humor mixed into the performance. I really liked the energy with which they played, and the way that they all half worshiped Miles Davis.

The music itself was wonderful. I have developed a whole new love of Jazz. In the past I usually preferred jazz with vocals in it, but I was so impressed by the instrumental Jazz. Miles Davis did so much for the music world its only right that he have a tribute as impressive at this. One thing I really liked was the use of a cello for a drum! This was really unusual approach but it was so exciting and unexpected.

My least favorite part of the performance was the waiting and brief interview time afterwards. With the crazy flock of birds and menacing snow my mind was quite on other things. Even when they did share I was not able to glean very much from what they shared. I think that they were the least enjoyable group to question. Most other people have acted as if they are happy to be their, where I felt the Turtle Island Quartet treated it as more of a chore.

I am very glad I got to see this performance. Their group does something so unique and entertaining.
